WORKSHOPS We are all creative and capable of connecting with what lives within our soul. This workshop uses the medium of clay to access artistic and creative forces which enable us to give expression to our inner-world. As the elements of earth, air, water and fire breathe within the clay, the meeting of our hands with the clay give us the possibility of reconnecting with the individual and spiritual aspects of our being. "THE SCULPTOR'S HANDS IS ONE SPACE, THE CLAY ANOTHER AND THE MEETING OF THESE TWO IS SCULPTURE". As you enter into dialogue with the clay, the sculpture that arises is a reflection of what needs to be seen and honoured. The challenge is that you must take hold of your sorrows and wounds with compassion. It is through compassion that the shaping hand is guided to follow an inner feeling of truth and beauty. In this way something new is created out of the old. Creating in this way enables SPIRIT TO ENTER MATTER. Creating in this way inspires us to move beyond the past RESHAPING AND PERFECTING THE SCULPTURAL FORM FOR SOMETHING NEW TO ARISE. During this workshop you will be given artistic and therapeutic guidance to assist your self-expression. You will experience the joy of being able to take hold of matter with an enlivened sense of touch, where the "too wet, dead and rigid clay" transforms itself into the language of living form. You will become more familiar with the language of sculpture and how nature shares with us her beauty. There will be time for sharing your ecperiences with other group members. Most of all you will be giving valuable time to yourself to release your creative spirit. Her gentle, intuitive guidance led me to a valued self-discovery." (psychotherapist) "Holding clay in my hands and discovering what it wanted to become was exciting and delightful. The energy with which the forms arose and spoke to me, was amazing." (architect) "Hilde connects at a soul level. The clay grounds me in the here and now, reminds me of my strength and the presence of spirit." (massage therapist) "Hilde Paz's workshop met all my expectations. There was the opportunity to experience the fun of squishing beautiful clay into whatever shape your heart desired, as well as the release of emotions from letting creativity run its course. There were also insights gained from open discussions about the meaning of the sculptures. Hilde uses her excellent intuition to offer her students gentle guidance and insights. This is a safe place to explore your spirit's creativity." (Spiritual healer) "Hilde inspired trust to work with her. Ordinarily, touching clay draws warmth out of my hands, and I find the cold, clammy feeling unpleasant. But the slow, rhythmical working brought a different, friendly way of connecting to the clay. I began to feel the clay was receptive to creativity, not demanding force in order to shape it. The exercise began slowly and within prescribed steps. But towards the end, a “leap” into freedom seemed --not necessary (like a shove over the edge) but—possible. The clay seemed ready to accept my question, how do I stand in the world? From the effort to answer that question, new possibilities and forms began to emerge. In the end I felt very satisfied. Through the clay a profound life question could be explored, without knowing where it would lead. The “responses” of the clay, as it took form under hands desiring to be truthful, revealed to me aspects that were new and astonishing. Deeply humbled, I felt I had been given through grace an opportunity to meet hidden aspects of my own self. "The whole process was possible because of trust. Hilde guided, supported and allowed the work of the exercise to be a sacred experience, for which I am profoundly grateful." (priest)
